The American Emigration Revue is an independent research desk tracking US citizens abroad across 99 countries, counted from government data, not estimates. Journalists, researchers and institutions rely on us for citation-ready figures, and we make it easy to reach a person.

Found something off? Tell us.
No one person can be an expert on the statistical apparatus of every country in the world, and we don't pretend to be. AER reports only what governments themselves publish, and the published record is uneven, translated and sometimes contradictory.
If you know a source we missed, a figure we misread, or a reporting quirk we got wrong, we want to hear it. Send it with a citation and we'll review it openly.
