9,600 US Citizens Moved to Ireland, Nearly Doubling Previous Figures

An estimated 9,600 U.S. citizens moved to Ireland in the year ending April 2025, nearly double the 4,900 recorded the previous year and the highest level of American arrivals since the Central Statistics Office began tracking the figure nearly 40 years ago. For the first time in the modern record, more Americans are moving to Ireland than Irish citizens are emigrating to the United States.
